Motor insurance provider backs safety charity
A charity promoting road safety has been given a much-needed boost with news that a major motor insurance provider has agreed to support it.
RoadPeace provides vital help and support to those who have been injured or bereaved by a road crash.
One of the services it offers is a telephone helpline that is open seven days a week offering practical and emotional help.
In 2003 over 3,500 people were killed on UK roads with over 22 per cent of those killed being pedestrians, the charity said. Children under the age of 15 accounted for almost five per cent of this figure.
Getting the backing of a major motor insurance provider will help RoadPeace raise the profile of its campaign and secure much-needed resources.
