I've just passed my test, how can I reduce my insurance premium?

There are multiple ways that could help you to reduce the level of you motor insurance premium. Some of these could be:

Car Engine Size - Keep this is as small as possible, usually the lower the engine size of a car the lower it's performance and hence the lower the risk that car is for an insurance company

Motor Groups- It is ideal to try and purchase a car with a lower insurance group to help keep insurance costs down. Click here for more information on Motor Groups

Vehicle Modifications - When considering making a modification to your first speak to your Motor Insurance company to find out the implications to your premium. Changing your wheels to alloys with locking nuts will probably make no difference, but making an upgrade to the engine will have big insurance implications.

Motor Vehicle Value - Insurers are generally willing to cover a vehicle on a third party basis up to a limit of around £2,000 and a maximum of £5,000. Beyond that they may well insist on comprehensive cover being required.
