The right of an insurer who has indemnified a policyholder to take over any legal rights the policyholder may have had in respect of that particular claim.
Sum Insured
This is the amount of money for which a property is insured. This is therefore the maximum amount that the insurance company will pay in the event of a claim being made.
Syndicate
This is a term referring to a group of underwriters at Lloyd's.
