A written amendment to an insurance policy that has become a legal entity within the insurance documentation.

 

Excess

When making a claim, the excess is what policyholder is expected to pay towards the cost of the claim. This is usually split into different excesses such as compulsory and voluntary.

 

Excess of Loss Policy

When claim costs exceed the amount specified in the original policy, a specialist excess policy covers these.

 

Exclusion

A stated situation or condition that an insurance policy does not cover.

 

Exposure
